Digital Wellbeng @school

“Digital Wellbeing” is a widely used term, referring to the idea that when people interact with technology, the experience should support mental and/or physical health in a measurable way. It therefore implies the ability to build and maintain a healthy relationship with technology and to use it appropriately in order to achieve one’s goals.

The aim of the “Digital Wellbeing@School” project is to strengthen the capacity of schools and educators to integrate digital education in a way that promotes students’ digital wellbeing. To this end, the project will enhance students’ skills in: (i) managing their time online, (ii) making effective use of digital learning, (iii) assessing what is presented on social media, and (iv) recognising technology-related risks.

It aims to foster teachers’ ability to integrate digital education in a way that promotes the physical health and mental wellbeing of both themselves and their students. The results of the project include:

  • A framework on digital wellbeing for schools across Europe.

  • A Digital Wellbeing training course and platform for teachers—an Open Educational Resource consisting of six modules:

    1. Online research and evaluation

    2. Digital content creation

    3. Online interaction and collaboration

    4. Online time management

    5. Digital safety

    6. Emotions and body respect

  • A repository of Digital Wellbeing educational activities.

  • An online Digital Wellbeing educational game: an interactive game accessible to students and young people online, as well as in school under the guidance of teachers.
